Recycle:
Don’t discard any of your family's non wearable clothes……
REDESIGN THEM!
Reinvent those worn denim jeans, shirts, old fashioned dresses, sweaters with holes, table cloths, blankets, you name it…..or even fabrics that are lying around waiting to be used, and transform them into your own creations.
This is intended to be a fun and informative sewing class where you can learn and express yourself through your creativity, and make it reality.
This class is open to students of all skill levels and all ages. You will explore step-by-step methods of taking apart garments and recreating them as unique pieces of wearable art.
I will present strategies for recycling fabric from existing clothing to creating patterns for new designs.
The results are attractive, eye-catching, one-of-a-kind, and bound to evoke compliments.
You will learn basic sewing techniques,
write/draw your ideas on paper, and learn how to take measurements.
Cutting, pinning, and basic sewing skills will be presented in a manner that is simple and easy to understand. At the completion of the course, you will be familiar enough with reconstruction techniques to redesign and recreate your old clothes, and become an independant seamstress,
and the ins and outs of your sewing machine,
A sewing machine is required.
So go ahead and pull that baby out of the closet, and put it to good use.
