January 2012
I hope you have had a wonderful holiday, or had a nice break, or went and searched for some new ideas, or got inspired to create a new and wonderful new year.
After I have had a full year dedicating and trying to keep Ricochet going, even through the hard times due to the economy, I was finally able to get away for a moment. I went for a small road trip with my son, and it got me all inspired and energized to start up my new year with ambition for growth and sharing, and with the desire to work even harder at making a difference for our environment and our community.
Classes/Workshops
This year I am planning on creating more classes to get our children and you inspired as well, by learning a wonderful life time skill.
Through our classes you can learn how to recycle and revamp what you already have in your closet (which I know we have lots of things we don't really want to get rid of, but is just sitting there). Or if you are not interested in taking classes, you can just have them custom made by us. I am now saying by us, because it is no longer just me running Ricochet.
Please check our site for class/workshop schedules Classes
Internship
I have now the opportunity for high school, college students, moms, just anybody who likes to be part of Ricochet to intern and learn more about our business, and or learn how to create one of kind wearable art, with an opportunity after completion to be hired. If you are interested please call Jill Pillot at 650-345-8740 or check on our site Internship
Donation
Another goal I would like to reach this year, one I have had for many years and feel I am now ready to explore, is opening the doors for children who perhaps don't have the means, or the support to take classes, and be part of Ricochet. I would like to give them a place for them to express their creativity, and give them the opportunity to explore their potentials.
This year I have volunteered some of my time to be a mentor for two Woodside High students that are at risk of not making it through high school. I hope this year to be even more involved and creating a place at Ricochet for those who would like to grow, and help grow.
Last year we have received gift certificates donated by customers and student’s parents towards our goal. Our goal is to keep those gift certificates growing, so that we can give back to our community.
I will do my part by evaluating your purchases here at Ricochet and send you a gift certificate that you can either use or donate. And of course we will always welcome any funds.
Fundraising in your school
You can now create an event at your school.
During fundraising time we can create a fashion show.
We will have the children from your school do the modeling of our line of clothes made from Recycled Materials (very important), and set up a booth at the event. A % of the sales and gift certificates will be donated to your school.
Just an idea I would like to throw out there.
It is a fun and exciting way of generating money for your school.
Please contact me with more info if you are interested. A couple of months advance notice will be required.
I am really looking forward to grow in these arenas this year, and we can only do this with each other’s support, so please let your family and friends know about us, so we can keep on doing what we love to do; and that is create, grow, help, give back, and build a community. And I hope you too can be part of it.
